The first step in any polyurethane foam application is to determine if the substrate (what we are applying it to) is suitable for SPF.
SPF can be installed to a variety of substrates, including asphalt, concrete, metal, wood and others.

Once the substrate is clean and dry it is ready to accept SPF.
SPF will be applied to a thickness that varies due to the roof design and the desired R-value.
The final step is to apply an elastomeric coating over the foam. This will protect the SPF from the sun’s UV rays.
The 3 types of coating we use are Acrylic, Polyurethane and Silicone– each with their own pros and cons.
There are multiple considerations involving the type of coating to be used– these are based on location, weather, roof design, color and chemical resistance to name a few.
