Friend of the sea

Friend of the Sea is the only independent certification of this kind. It is recognized by the national accreditation bodies. It is affordable and accessible also by small scale producers. It is the only certification of this kind which can potentially certify, with the same seal of approval (the Friend of the Sea logo) products from BOTH fisheries and aquaculture. Other similar certifications focus only on fisheries or only on aquaculture. MSC is also participated by the same companies it certifies, so not really independent.
